Found by Beverly Seyler. The owl was resting along the water side of the dike. It was alert, responding to the activity of nearby waterfowl. It was also sunning, turning its face to the setting sun. We did not flush the owl at any point during this observation period. We kept our distance. My photographs are cropped and were taken with a 500 mm prime lens.
