Small to medium sized wader with brown speckled back and neck, and sharp demarcation to white belly. Bill a bit longer than head, slightly down-turned, dusty yellow at base and darker towards tip. Pale supercilium, slightly rusty cap but not as chestnut as a Sharpie. Mostly feeding belly-deep so difficult to see legs, but glimpses showed they were yellowish. Feeding in open, shallow water towards centre of largest pond. Excellent, long, close scope views in perfect conditions of a rather stunning bird. Oh dear, I'm starting to sound like George Vaughan!
