See photos - large sparrow-like bird, bold face pattern, beak made for seeds, feeding on seeds on northwest part of the island among rocks. Brown overall, with poorly developed chest band, touch of rufous on wings, otherwise white front. Very hot - beak open.nI'm thinking these are immature/first year? Put one photo through merlin and ID matched.
