Great find this morning by Greg Hirth. Greenish flycatcher, smaller size, bold eye ring, wingbar. After we arrived, not seeing the flycatcher at the reported spot (far corner of the field, diagonally across from the parking area), we walked in different directions to spread out and search. Both of us independently heard the flycatcher calling (initially heard as a flycatcher-y call that was not anything familiar), and walked back toward it, both recording on our phones as we converged. Fortunately the bird kept calling and we were able to get eyes on it. It was perched in a tree, calling, preening, long enough for some photos and digiscopes (though view was a bit obstructed by branches). Eventually, it started flying out to flycatch, then dropped into the bushes out of sight for awhile. We had additional views of it perching in the same tree, on low bushes, and then perching and foraging in sumac, moving through other trees and bushes. We both have audio, but the bird didn’t vocalize again while we were there. Photos and audio tba. Note: Greg has great details in his list about how other species can be ruled out.
