Example of heron groupings and habitat along islands/inlets within Falls Lake. Most areas were exposed banks due to low water levels..

Several groups of herons near each other and spread about on banks between flat river and falls lake. 7 clustered on one bank area alone. Largest concentration observed on marshy islands spanning from 36.085626, -78.796834 downstream to 36.081505, -78.790862. Quite an amazing sight. Only able to snag a few pictures due to weather.
