*** Mega - State bird and first personal record for Cape Cod!! First confirmed record for Cape Cod in almost 30 years; immature| Reported a few weeks earlier and spotted by B. Nikula at the Wellfleet Drive-in, he called Pete Trimble and I and we raced up to try and refind it; Discovered drifting over the field to the north of the main building at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary; Spotted as we drove up and my dad hopped out while I parked, bird was in view for 1 minute before drifting behind trees to north; we waited for 10 minutes and it reappeared for a few more minutes before drifting again north; EXCELLENT BIRD!
