We photographed an adult male Anhinga in a small secluded pond just north of the Hatchie Bottoms in the hill country near Brownsville. The bird was found with wings spread, drying on an old snag and then flew to the top of a Tulip Poplar tree to preen. I'll post a few photos. Probably very few modern day records for this species in the area but the species seems to be making a slow recovery in West TN.
