Initially we saw the bird at about 845 this morning perched in a tree in Valley View Cir. This afternoon it returned with a fast swoop down the hillside and perched upon a large pine tree where it is scanning the area below for pray. It has a rust colored head, whiteish speckled breast streaked with light brown and a rust colored tail. Large adult. After about 12 mins of being perched a magpie landed in the tree about 6 ft from the bird and it was enough of a nuisance to it that it took flight and soared away.
