Our attention was drawn to this bird when we heard its calls. When we looked at the bird through our binoculars the chunky green body, yellow head and large pale hooked bill of this bird quickly caught our attention. There was no doubt we were getting fantastic views of of one of Hawaii's rarest birds. The Ou. Fred Zeillemaker captured several photos as supporting evidence for our observations (see below).
