Male Gouldian Finch, Black-headed form. I came across a group of over 12 birds, most were male. It is the start of the.....breeding season and they were chasing each other. This male was very inquisitive and approached to within about 2m of me. One of my most memorable Gouldian Finch experiences, perfect morning light to get a detailed photo of them in the wild. Elevation: 173 m. Date added to IBC: June 21, 2016.
