An immature on a feeder, feeding on tiny seeds. A breeding endemic to SW Tasmania, wintering on the southern coast of Australia's mainland. Critically Endangered, only 40-50 birds, of which 27 captive-bred birds, survived in the wild in the 2015 breeding season. An outbreak of the common beak and feather disease in that same year reduced the numbers even further. Elevation: 2 m. Date added to IBC: June 23, 2016.
