Pairs or small groups of these birds were stationed all around the complex. Each group would wait for the last to complete their 'song', and proceed to 'sing' in a clockwise fashion around the impoundments. We speculated that when certain nefarious humans die, their souls become trapped inside these chachalacas, hence all they can do is scream "what the f***!" for the remainder of their days.
