הערות
An adult Southern Ground Hornbill hunting for dung beetle larvae in Elephant Dung. The Southern Ground Hornbill (Bucorvus leadbeateri) is a threatened, turkey-sized, mainly terrestrial hornbill found in southern and parts of East Africa. Ground Hornbills stay in small family groups and move like undertakers through the bush, scanning the ground for prey such as snakes, lizards, amphibians, large insects and even tortoises, then catching them with their formidable black beaks. This adult Hornbill was flicking through a pile of Elephant dung with its bill, looking for dung beetle grubs on the H1-3 Road in Kruger National Park. When it found a grub, it would flick it into its mouth, then continue with its hunting. Original IBC location name and coordinates: Kruger National Park (-23.995,31.5665). Elevation: 287 m. Date added to IBC: April 21, 2019.
