Continuing at the Mountain Tower. They showed up later today at 4:50pm, but this time I was prepared with my scope. I’ll post some stills from video and more information later tonight. Tonight the birds were visible from 4:50pm until 5:02pm with a similar pattern as last night. The pictured bird returned to the same roost as last night (SE corner), while the other one flew around trying to find a suitable spot to rest. At 4:58pm, the remaining bird found a perch on the north side of the tower, however both birds emerged from their roosts at 5:00pm and flew around again until 5:02pm. At this point we packed up and were leaving, so perhaps they re-emerged. Photos are stills from iphone video taken through Swarovski scope and phone coupler. One video clearly shows two birds, but I cannot post Iphone videos on eBird for some reason. I would be happy to provide video to reviewers or other organizations for evidence. Edit 12/23/25: Apparently we can add video on eBird now, so I uploaded the video that shows both swifts.
