Rare. Slightly larger than RBGUs; smaller than AHGU. All-black bill smaller and thinner than AHGU. Pale rump in flight, inner primaries lacking “pale window” of similar AHGU. Dark plumage around eyes, on largely pale head. Legs more yellow than pink. Longer wings giving more graceful/attenuated appearance with regards to structure (in the way that a White-rumped or Baird’s Sandpiper appears)—unlike bulkier AHGU. Extensive pics.
