Small songbird, size between sparrow and cardinal. Sooty head. Dark gray back. Whitish belly. First heard making chip calls, then seen around landscaped habitat near trail next to the lake and adjacent homes. Flew from a bush and landed on a bare nearby cherry tree, where all three observers (Musa, Troy, Lori) saw it. Seen pumping tail while perching. Troy had his Merlin app on and, when he looked, the app indicated the presence of an Eastern Phoebe. The bird flew away shortly after that. The audio unfortunately is super short.
