One of the geese I observed had a boxy head shape, stubby bill, neat-looking barring pattern on its back, and primary feathers extending just beyond its tail feathers. It was on the small-end of the size spectrum of geese I observed -- maybe about 3/4 the chest-to-tail length of the average Canada goose nearby, who also seemed to vary in size across individuals quite a bit.
