Continuing from recent eBird alert. On a branch in the middle of a pond, drying its wings. Great views from 30-yds thru scope at 20-60x. Clearly saw its white-V adjacent to the light-orange gular region. Yellow bill. Dark eyes. Dark-brown wing tips. Much smaller than DCCO. No call heard. So-so iPhone pics (with back light) from 20-yds. BOOM - Lifer!!
