Size of small AHGU, bill small and all black, upperside of flight feathers pale buffy tan, with outer webs of primaries slightly darker than inner webs (at least on P7-10) but still did not appear darker than dark barring on upperwing coverts and on upper-and undertail coverts; tertials with some checkered patterning. So, not dark enough for thayeri.
