Fantastic find, reported about 1 hour earlier by Doug Henderson. The largest loon with distinctive ivory-bill, straight upper mandible and curved spoonlike lower mandible. Blocky head relative to COLO (also present) with large forehead and clear unpatterned feathers around eye. 1st year bird (?) with patterned feathering on back but not scalloped . Stayed close to the shore for about 10 of us.
