Aythya female type with light grayish brown back. When seen in profile, the peak of the head was at the forehead, not at where I would expect if this was a LESC, which peaks at the corner near the back of the head. The bird was mostly swimming away from me, so i got some good views at the thickness of the head, which is more wide and short than what I’d expect for a LESC. This may be the same bird seen here a few weeks ago, i wonder if it’ll stay all winter if it is, pics
