Continuing. I first heard an unfamiliar call, double noted, hard "chit-chit" that was repeated several times when a flock of AMPI picked up. On a hunch, I checked the calls on Merlin of this longspur...match. I quickly scanned and discovered it in a nearby, small dirt patch. I was only able to take 3 rapid pics before it flew. The best of the heat wave influenced pics is attached. NOTE: Please see comments regarding access to this area.
