Correcting this to Common Merganser, originally thought to be Red-breasted. Of note were white horizontal patches on back side body. Some white visible in chin area. Shaggy crest with red thin bill, all 3 look the same no male breeding plumage. Swimming and diving in the small bay near paddle rental. Forage style is tipping face into water as floats along, in addition to diving.
