Shortly after the GHOW took flight, we found this juvenile Barred Owl sitting on our driveway marker. It looked to be emaciated. The bird was very docile allowing me to pick it up with minimal fuss and place it in a box that we delivered to Jeannie Lord's Pine View Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in rural Fredonia. Amazingly coincidental to find two large presumably starving owls within such a short period of time! These two owl species are annual breeders in this area along with Eastern Screech Owls.
