A surprise found here yesterday. Mediu8m sized Tern, larger than Sterna species, but smaller than a Royal Tern. Bill relatively thin and with subtle change from orange to a yellowish hue at end. I think this bird is changing into basic plumage, but it still shows a shaggy nape and the dark crown area encloses the eye, typical for Elegant but unlike Royal. See photos.
