*** Once photos were received by the observer, the bird was identified as a FTFL and not a STFL. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/nf.birds/ec8uus8eRUU | https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/nf.birds/jzU0RxFiEs4 | Uploaded on August 19, 2018 by Alvan Buckley. I was just forwarded several good photos of a SCISSOR-AILED FLYCATCHER. I don't have all the details yet, but I think they were taken in Chapel's Cove, Conception Bay (near Harbour Main) in recent days. Waiting for more details. I guess the arrival of Igor will make it very difficult for anyone to relocate this bird, though!! Jared I just received photos of a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER. While I'm waiting on further details, it appears the photos were taken in Chapel's Cove , Conception Bay (near Harbour Main) in recent days. I'll post more when I get the specifics, but I guess the arrival of Hurricane Igor tomorrow will make it very difficult to relocate this bird. This is maybe just the second (documented) record for the province?? Having obtained a little further information, the bird was seen and photographed over a 15-minute period on Sunday, September 19 but not since. It may very well still be in the area, but who knows what will happen after the very nasty weather we are in for tomorrow and Wednesday. Dave Brown and I drove out to Chapel's Cove this evening on the very slim chance of relocating the bird, but no luck. It was moderate to heavy rain, so the bird may not have been obvious in any case.
