A flock of about 60 large shorebirds photographed in flight by Curtis A. Marantz on 4 May 2024 over the 279-fathom Bank, 23½ kilometers southwest of San Mateo Point at 33° 17' 12.2" N, 117° 49' 10.5" W, Orange County, California. These birds were likely Whimbrel, but we could not identify them with confidence.
