In a wild turn of events, we believe there are TWO different Yellow-bellied flycatchers Initially, I managed to pick one out of 4-5 empids with Hannah and Tucker. I saw one and was like what the heck, and told Hannah and Tucker. The three of us saw ANOTHER yellow empid which I believe is a second bird. The first bird is a juv with yellow-ish wing bars and a black tip on the bill. The second bird was photographed by Tucker, Hannah, Joe C, and Sheri as well as me. It has a complete orange bill with no black on the tip? Both birds had a very yellow throat, belly, eyering, and wingbars. mid-long primary projection. Black gap between wingbar and secondary edging. Seen by culvert 2. I believe this would be a 2nd and 3rd ebird record for Lubbock!
