Continuing bird found this morning by the great Avo Stilt (how many of you also know his real name?). Found it in the same area it’s been reported basically all day. In sycamores and Chinese elms at the extreme south end of the lake in the vicinity of (33.6776020, -117.7984193). This bird forages very slowly, even slower than the nearby WAVI. Once I observed it for 15 or so minutes, it flew up into the top of a sycamore and just sat there, almost motionless. I left to go check springvale park, came back a half hour later only to find it on the very same branch! This bird was silent throughout my visit, although other heard it sing and call earlier today. This bird was noticeably larger than a solitary vireo, as well as the Warbling Vireo in the same tree. Very thick, fairly short two toned grayish bill. Bill seemed somewhat decurved. Head and nape a somewhat dull greenish color. Prominent yellow “spectacles”. Bright yellow throat and chest/upper breast. Stomach pure white, as well as the UTCs. Fairly short tail, grayish overall, with white outer tail feathers. Back a beautiful blueish gray, two prominent, bold white wingbars, greenish wing “panels”. Blueish gray legs, as typical of vireos. Lifer for me! Photos to add.
