Pale wing coverts, thin bill, small head. Primaries were quite pale, with darker centers and a dark dot near the end of each feather (see open wing photo). Mantle was paler than nearby 1st cycle Thayer's. Initially reported as Kumlien's but after additional research, bill may be on the large size for that. Patterned tail and tertials support Kumlien's.
