BWWA x GWWA “Brewster’s Warbler" seen here: (34.7673207, -106.3269027). Totally unexpected! With car windows rolled down, I heard a faint Golden-winged Warbler-like song. All four buzzy note were similar in pitch and tone, which is somewhat atypical for GWWA. When the bird popped into view -- always singing from high, exposed perches -- it clicked that this was a hybrid. The bird's plumage closely matched the one from Sibley labeled '1st generation adult male Brewster's.' The bird had a conspicuous black eye line, a bright yellow crown, and pale yellow on the breast that was interspersed with white feathers giving it an unkempt look. Two bold wing bars were distinctly pale yellow and its face and nape had grayish-white feathers mixed with pale yellow. The bird was quite vocal, never deviating from four buzzy notes as heard in the iPhone recording. It ranged widely in the scrubby NM locust and Gambel oak thickets that surround this roadside clearing, labeled Tajique Campground on Google Maps. This appears to be the first "Brewster's Warbler" for New Mexico in eBird: https://ebird.org/species/brewar
