a male has set up territory in the front yard and claimed the feeders. he sits at a perch in the tree out front and won't let any Rufous Hummingbirds near the feeders. a second male Anna's Hummingbird showed up a few times throughout the evening. once it flew up to the other and appeared to challenge it, but flew off after a few-second standoff (pics). under his reign, the Rufous were hardly able to feed at all, until about 8:20, when he presumably went to settle down somewhere for the night.
