Formally "northwestern crow" this bird walked around the parking lot and seemed interested in our group as we hung out by our vehicles. While facing us or just slight turned away, the bird would lean forward with its bill pointed at its belly, its wings slightly drooping, and its tail spread; and very deliberately rock forward while giving a series (i think a set of three) low notes. Afterwards it would resume a typical relaxed position and look at us. We all thought it was begging food from us. Perhaps it was hoping to get tossed some food while at the same time displaying to some unseen second bird. The display reminded me of displays I have seen common raven do in the lower 48 - minus the rocking forward. I have never seen crows do this anywhere else but I have heard a similarly strange three note call from crows in the lower 48. Attached is a photo during one such display.
