הערות
Good shot showing beak profile of a Long-billed Dowitcher, walking close to a Killdeer for good size reference. This shot also shows its more subdued greyish colouring compared to the brighter/richer colouring that a Short-billed Dowitcher would have.
פרטי השורה
Ongoing, as reported to me by Frank Pinilla the evening before. Initially seen on the southern edge of the mud flats in the NE quadrant of the 4th cell, and gradually made its way towards the centre of this section of mud flats, doing its typical sewing machine style probing as it moved along. Had good views for about 20 minutes, then something unknown/unobserved suddenly made all the shorebirds in the cell take flight into the reeds along the cell's western shoreline. Pictures uploaded below (unfortunately a bit grainy due to my long lens being in for repairs, so I had to significantly crop the pictures taken with only my 135 mm lens). A short video has also been uploaded to my Flickr photostream at https://www.flickr.com/photos/107168873@N05/29398667843/in/dateposted-public/ , showing its sewing-machine-style probing relatively close to a Killdeer.
