הערות
A Maned Duck family grazing. Australian Wood Ducks, or Maned Ducks (Chenonetta jubata) are found throughout most of Australia except for the far north and some arid areas. They are mostly sedentary, and are usually found in fresh water habitats with good grazing nearby, although they do occur in saline wetlands. They are mostly vegetarian, and are commonly seen grazing on grasses and sedges near to water. This pair of Maned Ducks and their eight large ducklings were grazing on the mown lawn on the southern edge of Herdsman Lake, near Perth, Western Australia. The family was startled by a Whistling Kite as it flew over, and the ducklings immediately huddled close to their parents. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: September 16, 2019.
