Juvenile Shore Plover, preening. Rare Endemic to New Zealand and Chatham Islands, total population approx 150 birds. Captive breeding and reintroduction programme has help stabilise the population. Some birds relocated to predator free islands where they have bred successfully, some juvenile and post-breeding adult birds known to disperse to mainland. Elevation: 1 m.
