First saw it perched briefly on a utility wire, then it flew down into a corn stubble field and landed on the top of a stalk. Viewed it in scope at that time for a several minutes. Off whitish/grayish below, darker grayish on top, black wings and tail, wings had small white patches. I've seen Northern Shrikes, and this one showed the following differences. Black mask was wide around eyes and covered them, and also was forward of eyes across the top of bill. Throat was considerably whiter than chest, flanks and belly, and bill appeared stubby and short, with no hook I could see. Photos not great due to distance, but looks in scope were good. Doug Hommert saw presumably the same bird a short time before me, and told me it was further down the road from where I saw this one.
