Not so unusual in FNQ but nevertheless we were surprised to find this adult on the little puddle of water which is what was left of the river! I wasn't expecting to see another Little Whimbrel in Queensland so soon after my first! Bird was pretty settled feeding around the puddle and was less skittish than the Black-fronted Dotterels, no surprises there, allowing close approach. Very bright sunlight and quite hot but bird didn't seem effected.
