Détails de l'observation
*uncommon in spring. Originally we didn't notice this bird because it was hiding in a depression approximately 20' away from us until it started calling: a high-pitched, passerine-like 'chip'. Very attractive alternate plumaged adult; larger than semipalmated sandpiper with long wings giving tapered profile; combination of well patterned gray and rufous coloration above with discreet chevron streaks along flanks; lighter base to lower mandible (not very visible in photos but was in field); very large feet. Seen extremely well for a very long time as we photographed it, extensively.
