Détails de l'observation
Seen also by another searcher there who knew the species. Certain gerygone, seemingly juv. or more likely imm., see photos. Haven't encountered gerygones much, only seen Brown a couple of times in East Gippsland. Even with that memory and the help of various books, the many recent prior records, online Macaulay photos and my average photos still found 100% ID difficult. Most confident differentiating from other gerygones by call, white base to tail, then fainter fore supercilium and then the albeit confusing colourations. One seen a few times with another calling nearby confirming at least two present, also the photos taken may show two different individuals, photographed at different times ... or it could just be the changing fading light. Gerygone seemed to be associating with a Grey Fan-tail and also seen earlier with a male Golden Whistler. Seen near the train line. Let me know if any problems with ID via drewstevens@gmx.com
