Détails de l'observation
1st County record and accepted as the State's 11th. It was also my 447th NIB County bird. After making some calls, I recorded some voice notes while studying the bird: breeding plumaged adult with black legs and relatively small black bill; bold white throat set off by black line across upper breast with reddish below; the red breast fades into whitish belly; some blackish thin horizontal markings evident on flanks and sides of breast; undertail coverts clean white; white forehead set off by black line at edge of brown crown; black lores extending to auriculars and encompassing the eye; white extends from forehead as narrow and short eyebrow that stops abruptly not far past the eye; brown of crown extends onto nape and connects with grayish brown upperparts – no wing bars; white of throat wraps around auriculars to nape but does not connect above with white eyebrow; long winged appearance; white wing stripe is distinct on secondaries to inner primaries but appears to abruptly end not extending onto outer primaries; white sides of rump; broad black tip to rectrices; slightly bigger than Semipalmated Plovers and certainly smaller than Killdeers; and in flight noticeably longer winged than the Semipalmated Plovers.
