Détails de l'observation
Heard a single rendition of song at 1324, somewhat distant S or SW of the turnaround point: sweet whistles ending in a gurgle. Was not able to locate it visually. Heard again ca 10 mins later (different individual?) to the WNW or NW and saw movement near the property fence; sang several times. A few minutes between 1340, a saw (the same bird?) fly closer, making "chup" calls, landing on a metal fencepost at the property edge NW of the turnaround point. It made 1 rapid (speeding up) series of "chup" calls, then sang roughly 10 or more times. It was quiet and gone from sight again by 1343. At 1417, I heard "chup" calls apparently NW of the rocky draw, but due to elapsed time I was not sure it was a second individual. I was even less sure after spotting the calling meadowlark in the top of an alder; it then flew downstream, continuing until out of sight in my binoculars when a bush was in the way, probably at least a mile downstream.
