NOTES: General climate: DRY; SMALL RIVER IN SEMI-ARID WOODS. ON 10 JUNE 1979 IDENTIFIED AS TYRANNUS COUCHII BY L.I. DAVIS. ON 02 JULY 1979 IDENTIFIES AS TYRANNUS MELANCHOLICUS SATRAPA BY L.I. DAVIS. IDENTIFIED AS T. COUCHII BY T. PARKER APR83 - GB. [This recording combines the Incipient Locomotory Hesitance Vocalizations (ILHVs) and the Compound Vocalizations (CdVs) of Smith (1966. Communication and relationships in the genus Tyrannus. Publ. Nuttall Ornith. Cl. 6), which represent the "Kip" Calls and probably both the "Chi-queer" and "Tzeeeeerrhhh" Calls, respectively of BNA. The region from 0:37-0:45 has several good IHLVs. In addition to these vocalzations, there are several short trills that appear to instead have been given by Tyrannus melancholicus (e.g., 0:15, 0:24, 0:42, 1:02, and 1:09, this last trill apparently a Repeated Vocalization of this species (see Figure 6:2b). Quality changed from 3 to 1-2 (though this species never vocalizes in first part and nothing in last part is worth keeping) - CAM - 22 December 2004]. Habitat: Forest, River.
