Détails de l'observation
Two individuals not too far apart from each other seen foraging on far banks where Hawaiian Stilts often are. All dark; uniformly gray bill (with a dark tip on one individual); short, off-white streaks on dark head and neck; fairly strong white line above the lores. Eyes look dark gray in all of my photos. Closer views were not possible due to weather conditions. I am reporting these birds as immature White-faced's, because it is far more likely than the Glossy. The Pyle Monograph indicates that WFIB were documented in the Kailua area, Ka'elepulu Wetland to be specific, in the early 1930's, and my search has turned up no other reports for the area since. The two ibis's must like the current conditions of Hamakua Marsh very much.
