NOTES: (Cat. No. 72265A & B. Day: 27/29. Bkground Sounds: Aviary sounds: species exotic and Falco sparverius brought in for observation and training. Social Contact: Captive breeding.) The female does most of the calling as she "solicits" food and eventually copulation was attempted. Female "wail" and male chips heard. The male chip calls are slow--(and lower than F. sparverius). The Falco sparverius were imported for training personnel and observtion. The calls of the American Kestrel are higher, more squeaky and continual whereas the male F. punctatus are slower deeper chip calls. Other Behaviors: Court, Copulate.
