Détails de l'observation
Large American Golden-Plover observed for long period on the west bank of the Simpson Station pond, in the vicinity of the southern end where the pond narrows significantly. The plover tended to stay to itself, through there were other shorebirds (killdeer, yellowlegs, and least sandpipers) in the area. Notable characteristics: dark crown; smaller head and thinner neck than usually found on black-bellied plover; tips of primaries extending beyond tip of tail; and broad white stripe that runs over the eyes and down the sides of the neck and breast.
