NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 37. Bulk reel: 378 Time: 5:25 AM to 5:50 AM. Weather: Clear, moon just rising. No activity up to 5:34 AM. Then bird flew up to perch high in tree below path, gave a few "ao" calls, fell silent, then began regular calling ~ 5:36. (Not all saved.) A bird above path gave a few quiet "ao" calls, then a few slow whistles (not heard in recording). Bird below path continued "ao" calls to ~ 5:35 AM (not all saved). Bird from above path moved down over path and gave an occasional quiet single whistle (not heard on recording) then later flew a short distance toward EBRG. Both birds remained mostly silent. A third bird, up hill, gave a flight call, then a few minutes later gave some "courtship growling." Note: Field note made 11 June 1969 indicates that wing-whir display "sound" and vocal activity decreased greatly after heavy rains began end of May/beginning June. Quality: 2. Level: 0. Tape 203.
