Détails de l'observation
Lifer! Beautiful male found in the Holland State Park channel leading into Lake Macatawa. The ducks were congregating in the channel because it was the closest spot of open water. I mainly saw him swimming, diving, and preening near the south side of the channel between the blue guard rails and rocks right below the large house here: 42°46'21.5"N 86°12'33.9"W. He occasionally moved towards Lake Macatawa, but never went past the 3rd Orange ladder. When I was leaving, he made his way more towards Lake Michigan still closer to the southern part of the channel near the icicles. He was more noticeable than I was thinking he would be with a smaller body than nearby Scaup. He also stood out with a clean bright white body, all black back, black with purple hue head, black chest, and of course the fluffy feathery tuff on his head. I will add my pictures soon.
