Détails de l'observation
I was watching robins in the cottonwood canopy when this NPOW flew in. I watched them for some time through the scope, they were stationary that whole time, watching songbirds in nearby trees rather than resting or preening. 3 robins flew in around 1610 and perched about 10ft above the owl. Im not sure if they saw the owl or not, but they were all silent and did not mob at all. The owl flattened their feathers briefly when the robins came in. About a minute later, the owl flew upward and made an attempt at a robin, missing but taking the robins perch. The robins remained in the tree but kept their distance from the owl. At 1614 the owl flew off the southwest and the robins pursued. My 5th NPOW, but the first Ive seen with my good camera setup and a scope. Amazing encounter!
