Détails de l'observation
Reported earlier today by Linda and Steve Sargent (thanks!) Found it foraging on the ground along the road, on the SW (ocean) side at the dirt parking lot for the Majella Creek path. Seems to be an adult male (extensive chestnut-red on flanks), apparently molting out of breeding plumage. Disappeared briefly when a red-shouldered hawk perched nearby; was wet (from bathing?) when it reappeared. Extremely tame and seemingly very hungry; lots of photos but difficult to get good images because of near-constant movement. Bill Hubick saw it briefly as he was taking his family to lunch.
